Good morning! The recent thaw caused a minor rock slide on the highway during our drive home from town last night. Headlights flashing alerted us to an issue ahead. As we approached, traffic slowed, and we encountered a section where debris restricted vehicles to the east lane. Gary carefully navigated our car around the rocks and boulders, then stopped, parked on the roadside, and stepped out.
"I'm going to move some of that off the road."
"But honey, what if more falls down while you are out there?"
"It'll be ok"
So, off he went as a few more northbound cars made it through, but all those heading south were stuck. Beau barked his usual protests as Gary walked down the road, reached the slide, and started tossing rocks off the road. Soon, a woman from the first car in line joined him in the effort. Then another person joined, and another, until about 7 or 8 drivers were helping clear the road by tossing rocks to the side. Eventually, there was enough space for cars to pass through. It was a small example to me of how, when one person starts addressing a challenging situation, others quickly follow.

Today, February 24th at 1:00 PM, our regular ECHS Board Meeting will take place at the Entiat Council Chambers, located in the Entiat Public Library building. We will cover topics such as spring cleaning, museum repairs, and the upcoming summer season. ECHS members and interested visitors are encouraged to attend. Motivated by the Volunteer Museum Learning Cohort, we strive to achieve new objectives and welcome fresh perspectives to our group. Your enthusiasm for Entiat's history inspires us to face future challenges and rejuvenate our museum.
We deeply appreciate the community's support and aim to provide the best experience for our visitors this summer. We hope to attract new members and volunteers to help us achieve this goal. On Saturday, May 17, we will host our Opening Day and Membership Drive event, featuring a performance by LuAnn Price and Mike Johnson of the Quail Run bluegrass duo. More details will be announced shortly.
Embracing the robust American "can do" spirit, we invite you to join us in bringing positive changes to the museum.
